Full job description

Location: Remote (Work from Home) with local on-site visits & regional travel

Position Type: Flexible hours (up to Full-Time)

Company: Niro Technologies (Saskatoon, SK)

The Best of Both Worlds

Don't like sitting at a desk all day, but love deep technical problem-solving? This role gives you the freedom to balance remote IT support and server/network management with hands-on, on-site hardware and physical infrastructure deployments. As Niro Technologies grows, this role offers a direct path to specialize further in high-level Systems/Project Engineering or Field Operations Management.

About the Role

Niro Technologies is seeking a versatile, self-motivated, and adaptable MSP Systems and Infrastructure Technician to join our team. This role offers flexible working hours with the opportunity to build up to full-time hours based on workload and performance.

You will work primarily from home, managing daily end-user support and balancing project schedules. When on-site work is required, you will switch gears to handle hands-on hardware deployments and physical infrastructure tasks (such as pulling/terminating cables, running conduit, and mounting hardware). Company vehicles and specialized tools are provided whenever on-site projects and travel are required.

While most field work is within Saskatchewan, occasional travel outside the province may be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Support & Project Scheduling: Balance day-to-day end-user support (remote and on-site) while independently scheduling and prioritizing your time across multiple client projects.
  • Systems & Network Administration: Support Windows and Linux workstations, maintain Linux servers, and manage network infrastructure (including VLANs and firewall configurations).
  • Physical Deployments & Cabling: Perform hands-on field installations, including mounting wireless access points and security cameras, running conduit, and pulling/terminating network cables.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues efficiently across diverse client environments.
  • Client Communications: Act as a trusted technical contact, ensuring clean work areas and exceptional service while on client sites.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Driving & Background Check: Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record and a clear Criminal Record Check (required).
  • Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel mainly within Saskatchewan, with occasional out-of-province travel.
  • Technical Breadth: Hands-on experience with multi-OS support (Windows/Linux), server setups, network routing/firewalls, and general IT troubleshooting.
  • Hands-On & Tool Proficiency: Comfortable using power tools (drills, impacts, saws, etc.) and performing physical installation work in diverse client environments.
  • Self-Management: Highly organized with the ability to manage your own schedule, prioritize competing tasks, and work independently from home or in the field.
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication skills with a customer-focused, problem-solving mindset.

What We Provide

  • All tools, power equipment, and materials needed for physical installation work.
  • Access to a company vehicle/truck for on-site projects and travel.
  • Flexible working hours with high autonomy and a clear path toward full-time work.
