Full job description

Infrastructure and Network Support Specialist

Are you a hands-on IT professional who thrives on maintaining the security, performance, and day-to-day health of complex systems? Are you ready to manage a robust hybrid environment spanning physical/virtual servers, enterprise networking, and cloud technology?

Do you enjoy working across the full IT stack—from patching switches in the server room to architecting Entra ID policies in the cloud? Are you looking for a dynamic role where your expertise keeps core enterprise operations running smoothly? If so, our Information Technology Department is looking for YOU to join us as our new Infrastructure and Network Support Engineer.

We are seeking a driven, broad-spectrum Infrastructure & Network Support Engineer to own the health, security, and performance of our hybrid IT environment. In this broad, generalist role, you will manage physical and virtual servers, enterprise networking equipment, and our Microsoft 365 cloud ecosystem, serving as a critical asset across our entire technical infrastructure.

As an Infrastructure & Network Support Engineer, you will oversee essential network administration, server virtualization, and M365 identity operations. Your technical efficiency and proactive maintenance will directly ensure system reliability, data protection, and operational continuity across all business units.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

· Network Infrastructure Management: Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network equipment including Cisco (Catalyst/Meraki) and Ubiquiti (UniFi) switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.

· Network Administration: Manage LAN/WAN, VLANs, VPNs (site-to-site and remote access), DNS, DHCP, and QoS, while maintaining accurate network documentation, diagrams, and IP address management (IPAM).

· Security and Performance Monitoring: Monitor network performance and capacity to proactively resolve bottlenecks and outages; maintain firewall rules, network segmentation, and secure remote access policies.

· Windows Server and Virtualization: Administer Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022) including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file/print, and certificate services. Manage virtualization platforms (Hyper-V and/or VMware vSphere) for host provisioning, VM lifecycle, and high availability.

· Hardware Lifecycle and Patching: Deploy and maintain physical servers (Dell/HPE/Lenovo) including firmware, RAID, and iDRAC/iLO; own patch management, server hardening, and vulnerability remediation fleet-wide.

· Backup and Disaster Recovery: Own backup and disaster recovery solutions (e.g., Veeam, Datto), performing regular restore testing and maintaining thorough DR documentation.

· M365 and Cloud Identity Administration: Administer Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and Entra ID (Azure AD). Oversee user lifecycle, licensing, MFA, Conditional Access, SSO, hybrid identity (Entra Connect), and Intune/Endpoint Manager for device management.

· Additional Duties as Assigned: Be flexible and willing to take on additional systems maintenance, technical support, and infrastructure tasks as needed to support corporate operations.

What You Bring to the Table:

· Infrastructure Expertise: Proven, hands-on experience maintaining enterprise network hardware, Windows Server fleets, and VMware/Hyper-V virtual environment deployments.

· Cloud; Identity Mastery: Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 ecosystem administration, Intune endpoint compliance, Conditional Access policies, and Entra ID (Azure AD) hybrid setups.

· Security & DR Focus: Demonstrated experience with server hardening, firewall segmentation, vulnerability patching, and managing enterprise backup solutions (Veeam/Datto).

· Problem-Solving & Agility: Strong troubleshooting skills across the full IT stack, from physical cabling and switch configurations to cloud identity architecture.

· Communication Skills: Clear, professional communication skills to document environments accurately and interface effectively with internal teams and external technical vendors.

Salary: $75,000.00 to $95,000.00 CAD Annually and commensurate with the candidate knowledge and relevant experience.
