Full job description

Position Overview

We are looking for a hands-on Technical Support Specialist to join our team in Coquitlam, BC. This role supports customers and internal teams with printing equipment, heat presses, and printing software, providing both remote troubleshooting and hands-on service. The position is primarily onsite, with periodic travel required to Canadian trade shows. A sales component is an important part of this role, as the position involves representing Joto and its products directly with customers and prospects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for printing equipment, including sublimation printers, DTF printers, UV printers, and heat presses
  • Diagnose and physically repair equipment, including manual troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and calibration issues
  • Support customers and internal staff with printing software, including RIP software, design software, and related workflow tools
  • Perform equipment setup, installation, and commissioning at customer sites or Joto facilities
  • Represent Joto at Canadian trade shows, demonstrating equipment and supporting the sales team with technical expertise and customer conversations
  • Identify and support sales opportunities that arise through technical interactions with customers
  • Document service calls, repairs, and recurring issues to build an internal knowledge base
  • Train customers and staff on proper equipment operation and maintenance
  • Coordinate with the purchasing and logistics teams on parts availability for repairs
  • Escalate manufacturer warranty issues and coordinate with suppliers as needed

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience with printing and decorating equipment, including sublimation, DTF, or UV printers, heat presses, laser engravers, vinyl cutters, or embroidery machines, OR equivalent hands on experience repairing similar mechanical and electrical equipment (examples include office equipment and copiers, appliances, small engines, industrial or commercial equipment, electronics, or HVAC systems)
  • Working knowledge of printing software (RIP software, design software, or similar)
  • Proven ability to manually diagnose and repair equipment, not limited to software resets or basic troubleshooting
  • Comfortable working onsite full time, with periodic travel to Canadian trade shows
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues in plain, fluid conversation to customers with varying levels of technical knowledge
  • Comfortable engaging in sales conversations and identifying opportunities during customer and technical interactions
  • Valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle is a nice to have, though not required

Founded in 1989, Joto operates warehouses in Coquitlam BC, Mississauga ON, Blaine WA, Las Vegas NV, and Nashville TN.
