Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Telecommunications Field Team Lead to supervise, train, and support a team of field technicians.

The Team Lead will be responsible for monitoring technician performance, providing technical and sales coaching, completing field inspections, supporting daily operations, and ensuring technicians follow all quality, safety, and customer-service standards.

This is a hands-on, field-based leadership position requiring regular travel throughout the assigned territory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and support field technicians completing telecommunications installations and repairs.
  • Train technicians on the installation, repair, and troubleshooting of Internet, Wi-Fi, TV, home phone, fibre, copper, and security services.
  • Coach technicians on sales techniques, identifying customer needs, presenting suitable services, and improving sales results.
  • Provide field and remote technical assistance when technicians encounter installation or service issues.
  • Conduct physical and virtual inspections to confirm that completed work meets company and client standards.
  • Monitor technician productivity, work quality, completion rates, repeat service calls, customer satisfaction, safety compliance, and sales performance.
  • Develop and implement coaching or performance-improvement plans when required.
  • Assist with onboarding, training, and evaluating new technicians.
  • Coordinate technician schedules, workloads, work orders, and field-support requirements.
  • Ensure technicians complete all required documentation, customer forms, job notes, photographs, and safety assessments.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and collect required safety documentation from technicians.
  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly operational and performance reports.
  • Maintain accurate records of company tools, equipment, and assets assigned to technicians.
  • Communicate professionally with technicians, customers, clients, and management.
  • Escalate technical, operational, safety, or customer concerns when necessary.
  • Travel within the assigned territory to support technicians and field operations.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum two years of telecommunications field-service experience.
  • Previous experience supervising, training, mentoring, or coaching technicians is strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of residential telecommunications installations, repairs, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Internet, Wi-Fi, TV, home phone, fibre, copper, or security services is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of customer service and field-sales practices.
  • Ability to coach technicians on both technical performance and sales results.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to review performance results and create practical improvement plans.
  • Comfortable preparing reports and working with mobile and computer-based field-service systems.
  • Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
  • Availability to work both weekdays and weekends based on operational requirements.
  • Ability to lift equipment, climb ladders, enter confined spaces, and work outdoors in different weather conditions when required.
  • Professional-level English communication skills.
