Under the supervision of the Technical Operations Supervisor, the technician is responsible for ensuring the optimal functioning of audiovisual equipment (projectors, microphones, sound systems, etc.) in all meeting and conference rooms. They will support the smooth running of events by providing first-line technical support to our corporate clients.


Your day will look like this:

  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Perform regular preventive maintenance, respond promptly to equipment failures, and troubleshoot technical issues to ensure the quality of presentations.
  • Customer Support: Respond to customer technical inquiries with courtesy and professionalism, offering solutions tailored to their needs. Build strong customer relationships by acting as a strategic advisor and being proactive in anticipating their needs.
  • Incident Management: Document interventions in the ticketing system, update technical documentation, and collaborate with other stakeholders to ensure quality customer service.
  • System Optimization: Find creative solutions to keep systems operational in the event of equipment failure, proposing alternative solutions as needed. Network configuration of newly installed or replaced equipment.
  • Training and User Support: Train users on audiovisual tools and technologies, providing ongoing technical support.
Your profile:
  • Electronics Engineering Technology or a skilled trade in Electronic Service Technician, Information Technology (IT), or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate directly with clients in a corporate setting.
  • Commitment to providing excellent customer service.
  • Strong knowledge of audiovisual technologies (networks, audio, video, control, etc.).
  • Familiarity with home automation concepts (Crestron Toolbox, AMX), video conferencing platforms (Polycom, Cisco, Zoom, Teams), and digital audio processing systems (BIAMP, QSC, Bose).
  • Valid driver's license
  • Valid passport (an asset).
  • Pofiiciency in Micosoft Office Suite
  • Team-oriented and collaborative.
  • Strong ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive under pressure and adapt effectively to changing environments.
  • Ability to work independently and resourcefully with minimal supervision.

  • Solotech provides a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this position in accordance with Ontario pay transparency requirements. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, location, experience, training, certifications, and internal equity. Final compensation will be determined at the time of hire. A reasonable estimate of the current hourly wage range is $22,88 to $28,60.
