Owens MacFadyen Group (OMG) is a boutique wealth management firm which specializes in the high-net-worth market. Since 1995 we have been providing a unique team-based approach to Comprehensive Wealth Management that allows our clients to achieve significantly better outcomes.

OMG is committed to its clients and its people. We pride ourselves on delivering privacy, confidentiality, and integrity in all our interactions. Our clients require and value competent, independent professional advice delivered by specialists working within a team environment. We now have over 90 people and growing. Our four offices include: Toronto, Halifax, Saint John & Moncton.

We are currently seeking a Wealth Associate in our Halifax office.

Key Responsibilities:

· Supporting Advisors in delivering first-class financial planning and strategic wealth management services to clients.

· Managing client reviews, scheduling meetings, and preparing meeting materials.

· Facilitating client communication and relationship building.

· Overseeing advisor practice workflow and ensuring operational efficiency.

· Managing and processing all areas of client service, including annual reviews, insurance premiums, wealth transfers, and tax reporting.

· Handling the full wealth account opening cycle, client updates, and life insurance application processes.

· Processing trades and money movements accurately and efficiently.

· Experience peer-reviewing tasks and mentoring newer team members.

· Collaborating with the Advisor Team on complex financial situations.

· Preparing investment portfolio reviews and client presentations with guidance from the Advisor.

· Managing day-to-day client requests and partnering with internal teams to ensure timely execution.

· Delivering high-touch, personalized client service with rapid resolution of inquiries.

· Acting as team lead during tax reporting season, liaising with tax professionals and clients to provide necessary documentation and updates.

· Engaging in continuous learning and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.

· Performing other relevant duties as assigned, in alignment with evolving organizational needs.

Desired Skills and Experience:

2+ years of progressive work experience in a similar role within the financial services industry, wealth, banking, and/or administration

Bilingual English & French would be considered a strong asset.

Investment Representative licensing is required, including successful completion of:

o Canadian Securities Course (CSC)

o Conduct and Practices Handbook Course (CPH)

Registered Representative licensing is preferred, including completion of the Wealth Management Essentials Course (WME).

Dynamics 365

Life Insurance experience considered a strong asset

Strong administrative background

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Excel – advanced)

High performer with high attention to detail

Is professional when responding to client service inquiries and can confidently interact with other professionals such as accountants and lawyers

Final compensation will be based on the successful candidate’s experience, qualifications, technical expertise, certifications, geographic location and overall alignment with the requirements of the position. Compensation may vary to reflect local market conditions and cost of labour within the candidate’s work location.

Compensation at OMG is established on a role-specific basis, considering factors such as scope, complexity, accountability, value provided, experience and required expertise. Final compensation will vary from the expected amount depending on the successful candidate’s profile and the final scope of responsibilities.
