Social Worker (MSW)

Compensation: $60.00 – $75.00 per billable hour

Signing Bonus starting at $2500

What is a day in the life of a SWCG/FA Social Worker?

  • You will provide assessment, counselling and psychotherapy to individuals, couples and families who have experienced trauma, traumatic injury, and complex orthopedic injury
  • You will interface with the medical, legal and insurance systems
  • You will advocate for and help link clients to community-based resources that would improve their social and emotional well-being
  • You will monitor, evaluate, and record client progress according to measurable goals described in treatment and care plans
  • You will provide detailed, comprehensive reports as part of the medical-legal system
  • You will maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending training sessions and establishing personal networks

What do you need to be successful?

  • You enjoy collaborating with a multidisciplinary team
  • You have strong verbal/written communication skills and have the ability to work with different personalities
  • You use good judgement and apply critical thinking when making client decisions
  • You have demonstrated commitment to post-graduate professional development
  • Hospital experience is considered an asset
  • Pediatric/adolescent work is an asset
  • Couples therapy experience an asset

Qualifications:

  • You have a Masters Degree in Social Work
  • You are a member in good standing with the College of OCSWSSW
  • You have a valid Drivers License and access to a vehicle
  • Strong knowledge and competence with a variety of clinical treatment modalities
  • 3-5 years of clinical experience in related field/healthcare sector
