About the Position
Mountain Home Services is looking for reliable and experienced Snow Removal Skid Steer / Plow Truck Operators to join our team for the upcoming winter season.
We are hiring applicants in:
- Kelowna
- Vernon
- Lake Country
- West Kelowna
- Armstrong
- Surrounding areas
The winter season typically runs from November 1 to March 15, depending on weather and snow conditions.
We are looking for individuals with previous residential and/or commercial snow removal experience. Skid steer or similar equipment experience is an asset.
There may also be opportunities to continue working with us year-round in landscape maintenance, and irrigation.
Core Staff
Core Staff members will be assigned a specific snow route and will be responsible for that route throughout the winter season.
Applicants must be available for their assigned shifts throughout the winter season and be prepared to respond to weather-related call-outs as required.
We are looking for individuals who may be available for day shifts, evening shifts, and overnight shifts.
Compensation
Starting wage: 35.00–40.00/hour, depending on machine experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities
- Operate skid steers, plow trucks, and other snow removal equipment
- Remove snow from residential and commercial properties
- Plow, de-ice, and sand designated areas
- Perform occasional hand shovelling as required
- Follow assigned snow routes and company procedures
- Maintain clean and safe job sites
- Complete required site information using company apps
- Respond to weather-related call-outs
- Work independently and as part of a team
- Follow directions and complete assigned work efficiently
Requirements
- Previous residential and/or commercial snow removal experience
- Experience operating a skid steer or similar equipment
- Reliable vehicle and transportation
- Cell phone with reliable access
- No other work or personal obligations that would interfere with your availability during the winter season
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in cold and winter weather
- Physically fit and able to perform demanding physical work
- Proper winter clothing and appropriate winter boots
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to follow instructions and assigned snow routes
- Reliable and dependable attendance
- Willingness to work flexible hours based on weather conditions
- Clean driver's abstract
- Criminal record check
Important Availability Requirement
This is a 100% on-call, weather-dependent position during the winter season.
Applicants must be prepared for call-outs at various times, including overnight, early-morning, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts, depending on weather conditions.
Applicants must be able to maintain their availability from November 1 to March 15.
Year-Round Opportunities
