Senior Real Estate Law Clerk

Duco & Duco LLP
Innisfil, ON
Full-Time | Permanent | In-Office

Salary: $50,000 - $70,000 per year, based on experience

Duco & Duco LLP is seeking an experienced and highly organized Senior Real Estate Law Clerk to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing residential real estate transactions from opening to reporting, while maintaining exceptional client service and attention to detail.

This position is ideal for an individual who can work independently, manage multiple files simultaneously, and take ownership of their work while collaborating effectively with lawyers, clients, lenders, and real estate professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Manage residential purchase, sale, refinance, transfer, and mortgage files from start to finish
  • Prepare and review legal documents and correspondence
  • Conduct title searches and review title-related matters
  • Draft and register documents through Teraview
  • Prepare statements of adjustments and trust ledger documentation
  • Liaise with clients, realtors, lenders, financial institutions, and opposing counsel
  • Coordinate closing funds and completion of transactions
  • Maintain accurate electronic and physical file records
  • Assist lawyers with file management and transaction support
  • Ensure all deadlines and regulatory requirements are met

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of real estate law clerk experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Ontario residential real estate transactions
  • Experience with Teraview and Unity preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal practice management software
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Professional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Compensation & Benefits

  • Annual salary of $50,000 – $70,000, based on experience and qualifications
  • 4% vacation pay (equivalent to two weeks annually)
  • Paid Christmas office closure (typically one week)
  • Employees who voluntarily assist with real estate closings during the Christmas closure are compensated at 1.5 times their regular rate, while still receiving their paid closure week
  • Five paid sick days annually
  • Available following successful completion of the 90-day probationary period
  • Prorated for the remainder of the first calendar year
  • Renewed annually each January 1
  • Unused sick days do not carry forward
  • Paid statutory holidays
  • Additional paid office holidays, including:
  • Easter Monday
  • Civic Holiday (August)
  • Monday to Friday schedule
  • 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • 30-minute unpaid lunch break
  • Two paid 15-minute breaks (may be combined into a single 30-minute break)
  • Following successful completion of one year of employment, employees may be considered for hybrid or work-from-home arrangements based on performance and operational requirements
