Are you looking for a great teaching opportunity in a higher education setting with a well established professional College?

Capital College is opening up a number of new courses and requires experienced and dedicated teachers shortly / or to be part of our substitute list.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Observe Montessori classrooms and provide constructive, practical, and respectful feedback to teachers.
  • Coach lead teachers and classroom assistants in Montessori philosophy, classroom management, lesson presentation, observation, and record-keeping.
  • Design and deliver professional development workshops, training sessions, and individual coaching plans.
  • Support teachers in preparing and maintaining developmentally appropriate Montessori environments.
  • Help educators improve lesson planning, material presentation, student observation, and individualized learning support.
  • Guide teachers in applying Montessori principles consistently in daily classroom practice.
  • Stay informed about current Montessori education practices, child development, inclusive education, and professional standards.

Qualifications:

  • A recognized Montessori teaching credential for the relevant age level or levels.
  • AMI or AMS certification is required. Credentials from a MACTE-accredited Montessori teacher education program may also be considered.
  • A minimum of three years of successful Montessori lead-teacher experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Montessori philosophy, materials, classroom environments, observation methods, and child development.
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring, coaching, supervising, or training Montessori educators.
  • Ability to provide clear and constructive feedback while building positive professional relationships.
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with teachers and school leadership.
  • Experience as a Montessori trainer, instructional coach, curriculum coordinator, principal, or school administrator.
  • Legal authorization to work in Canada.
