Full job description

We are seeking experienced, safety conscious Finishing Excavator, Dozer, Grader and Skid Steer Operators to join our team for projects throughout Northern Alberta. Positions may be fly in fly out from Edmonton or Calgary (depending on project location) and camp or hotel accommodations will be provided.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–5 years of finishing experience in civil construction (grader operators may require more depending on complexity)
  • Proven ability to achieve tight grade tolerances
  • Experience with GPS machine control systems is a strong asset
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and grade stakes
  • Strong understanding of safe work practices
  • Valid driver’s license (Class 5 minimum; Class 1 or 3 considered an asset)
  • Must have the following Safety tickets: CSTS 2020, CSO, First Aid, Ground Disturbance, WHMIS and H2S Alive.

Key Responsibilities

Excavator Operators:

  • Perform precise trenching, grading, and shaping for underground utilities
  • Final grading around structures, manholes, and services
  • Read and interpret grade stakes, survey markings, and site plans
  • Work closely with grade checkers and ground crews
  • Maintain equipment in safe working condition

Dozer Operators:

  • Perform fine grading to final elevations and tolerances
  • Operate GPS-equipped dozers (Topcon/Trimble experience an asset)
  • Spread and level materials for roadways, pads, and site development
  • Assist with rough grading as required
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections

Grader Operators:

  • Perform final grading of roads, ditches, and building pads
  • Operate GPS-controlled graders to achieve precise elevations and slopes
  • Fine grade subgrade, base, and surface materials
  • Maintain proper drainage and crown on roadways
  • Work closely with survey crews and site supervisors

Skid Steer Operators:

  • Perform fine grading, cleanup, and site preparation tasks
  • Operate attachments (buckets, forks, brooms, augers, etc.)
  • Assist with material handling and general site support
  • Maintain clean and safe work areas
  • Support other crews as required

Successful candidates will be expected to adhere to all of our company Policies, including our Alcohol and Drug Policy.
