Full job description

Axis Collective is a creative and digital communications agency producing content for political campaigns, public figures, community organizations, unions, businesses and advocacy initiatives.

We are looking for a creative, reliable and adaptable videographer to join our team and produce engaging short-form content for social media, advertising and client campaigns.

This is a fast-paced, field-based position that will involve travelling throughout Mississauga and the Greater Toronto Area to film events, community visits, announcements, interviews, meetings and other public appearances.

The successful candidate should be comfortable working with public-facing clients, identifying strong content opportunities in real time and quickly turning footage into polished videos for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts and digital advertising.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to client events, appearances, community activities and filming locations
  • Film short-form videos, interviews, speeches, announcements and behind-the-scenes content
  • Capture strong footage in fast-moving and unpredictable environments
  • Edit footage into polished and engaging social media videos
  • Identify strong moments, quotes and content opportunities while on location
  • Set up and operate cameras, lenses, lighting, stabilizers and wireless audio equipment
  • Work closely with Axis Collective staff, clients and campaign teams
  • Follow scripts, messaging documents, creative direction and content briefs
  • Add captions, music, transitions and basic motion graphics
  • Format content for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and digital advertisements
  • Organize, back up and securely manage footage
  • Complete edits within short and sometimes same-day timelines
  • Make revisions based on client and team feedback
  • Maintain professionalism and discretion around clients and confidential discussions

Requirements

  • Previous professional videography and video-editing experience
  • Strong portfolio of short-form, commercial, event or public-facing content
  • Own professional camera, lenses, wireless microphones, stabilizer, tripod and lighting equipment
  • Experience using Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve or similar software
  • Strong understanding of Instagram Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts
  • Ability to film and edit content in a fast-paced environment
  • Reliable vehicle and willingness to travel throughout Mississauga and the Greater Toronto Area
  • Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends depending on client schedules
  • Ability to accommodate changing schedules and occasional last-minute assignments
  • Strong communication, organization and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating with a larger team
  • Professionalism, good judgment and respect for confidentiality
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and complete revisions quickly

Experience producing political, campaign, government, union, advocacy or community-based content is considered a strong asset.

Compensation and Schedule

The position pays $1,300 per week, based on an expected schedule of approximately six hours per day.

Hours and filming locations will vary depending on client events, campaign activities and production schedules. Candidates must be available to travel regularly and work occasional evenings and weekends.

Applicants should be based in or near Mississauga and have reliable transportation.

How to Apply

Please submit:

  • Your resume
  • A link to your portfolio or demo reel
  • At least three examples of short-form content you have filmed and edited
  • A list of the camera, audio, lighting and stabilization equipment you own
  • Your general weekday, evening and weekend availability
  • Confirmation that you have reliable transportation and can travel throughout the GTA

Applications without a portfolio will not be considered.

Pay: $1,200.00-$1,500.00 per week
