Core Logging Geologist

Fireside Minerals Ltd. is a resource company committed to responsible mining and mineral development focusing on barite. We are the leading company for barite mining in Canada.

We are currently seeking individuals for the position of: Core Logging Geologist. Reporting to the Senior Geologist and Mine Manager and President. This job position includes working at the remote Fireside Minerals Mine site in Northern BC and requires long hours working alongside a diamond drill in the field.

Responsibilities:

· Logging core from the Diamond Drill

· Helping orientate the drill

· Helping to ensure the drill is at the correct depth and the correct footage markers are being used.

· Assist with the planning and implementation of drilling programs.

· Complete core sampling activities accurately and efficiently.

· Perform core photography and maintain organized geological records.

Qualifications:

  • BSc in geology is an asset
  • Min 1 year of industry experience.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Valid First Aid (Minimum Emergency OFA 1)
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience working in a remote setting
  • Strict no drug/alcohol policy in effect.

Shift:

  • 24 days on- 17 days off
  • 12 hour working days
  • Flights paid for from major hubs to Whitehorse
