Full job description

Linde Canada Inc.

National Production Manager (full time)

Mississauga, ON, or Montreal, QC, Canada | req29668

The National Production Manager position responsibilities include leading Merchant and Onsite industrial gas manufacturing activities across Canada relating to variable cost management, productivity, outage planning, inventory management and plant efficiency tracking. This is a critical position interacting with executive management, quantifying, supporting, and communicating product supply impacts and plant operating information to various stakeholders and teams to meet business objectives.

What you will enjoy doing*

  • You’d be managing all the variable costs across the site—things like electricity, gas, CO2, water, and steam—making sure we’re budgeting accurately, tracking variances, and handling accruals
  • A big part of the role is helping us optimize power costs and supply strategies, both short- and long-term, while also giving real-time guidance to the plants
  • You’ll look for opportunities to drive savings by leveraging different power programs and making sure we stay compliant while maximizing cost benefits
  • And you’ll coordinate plant downtime—planned or unplanned—including scheduling, backup support, and making sure inventory is managed properly
  • You’ll track and report on monthly performance metrics like production volumes, costs, utilization, reliability, and environmental impact
  • You’ll also review and approve all variable cost invoices to ensure everything is accurate financially
  • There’s a strong stakeholder alignment piece—you’ll help connect the dots between power costs, margins, forecasts, and business impacts across teams
  • Finally, you’ll interpret contracts and regulations, and lead productivity initiatives—using data and analysis to identify improvement opportunities and track project benefits

What makes you great*

  • We’re looking for someone with a bachelor’s degree — engineering is ideal — who has a solid technical foundation
  • You’ll bring about more than five (5+) years of experience working with ASU, CO2, or similar plant operations
  • You’re comfortable monitoring plant performance and key KPIs, and using that data to support operational decisions
  • You have experience with financial controls, budgeting, and understanding how costs flow through operations
  • Energy management experience is a big plus, especially if you’ve worked with electricity markets
  • You’re strong in Excel and use it regularly for analysis and reporting
  • You’ve worked on productivity or improvement projects and can clearly explain the cost-benefit impact
  • Above all, you’re operationally focused, driven to succeed, and have strong interpersonal skills to work across teams
