Heavy Duty Mechanic (Red Seal) – 2-Month Contract | 7/7 Rotation

Location: Evolution Mining Site – Balmertown, Ontario
Schedule: 7 Days On / 7 Days Off (12-hour shifts) Day shift only
Term: Approximately 2 Months starting July 22/2026

Tekmen Contracting Ltd. is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic to support operations at the Evolution Mining site in Balmertown, Ontario. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled mechanic looking for a rotational schedule in a mining environment.

The successful candidate will work in the surface shop performing maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on a diverse fleet of equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on a variety of mobile and stationary equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and communicate equipment deficiencies.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with site policies and procedures.
  • Participate in daily safety meetings and adhere to all mining site safety requirements.

Qualifications

  • Red Seal Heavy Duty Equipment Technician Certification (required)
  • Minimum experience working with heavy equipment and fleet maintenance in an industrial, mining, or construction environment preferred
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving abstract
  • Ability to provide a current Criminal Record Check
  • Must supply and maintain personal tools required for the position
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote work environment
