Title: Part-Time - Laboratory Technician - AR/TD Processes

Hiring for Following Shifts: Schedule is Part-Time for Weekends (Saturday and Sunday). Training for this role will take place during week day shifts. Once trained, will then move to weekend shifts.

Education Required:

B.Sc. in chemistry or any scientific/engineering discipline, or a minimum of a 2 year Technician/Technology Diploma and two years experience in a commercial laboratory, or a 3-year Technician/Technology Diploma and one year experience in a commercial laboratory.

Responsibilities:

The following responsibilities may include some or all of the following or any other tasks assigned directly or indirectly by the Process Owner.

  • Compliance with all safety procedures including MSDS review for all chemicals used
  • Documentation of all training at the time of training
  • Sample dissolution according to Quality Operating Procedures or standard methods when required
  • General chemical and reagent preparations according to Quality Control Procedures when required
  • Maintenance and operation of instrumentation such ICP, ICP-MS, FIMS HG Analyzer, according to Quality Control Procedures
  • Maintenance of all required logs, files, etc. for area of testing
  • Maintenance of sample storage areas including sample storage logs
  • Maintain stock of consumables in supply room
  • Assist in ensuring turn-around time meets LIMS/Support site due dates by working overtime when required/authorize

  • Technical competence in many aspects of the process; problem solver
  • Strong computer knowledge and skills
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace; ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrate common sense, strong organizational and prioritizing skills
  • Ability to work as a team member, work well unsupervised
  • Demonstrate willingness to put in the needed effort to meet company goals of improved TAT, quality and reduction of costs.
