Mine Engineer in Training – 2026-048
Foran Mining Corporation (TSX:FOM) is a forward-thinking mining company redefining the industry. We are seeking an Engineer in Training to join our growing McIlvenna Bay team as part of our EIT Program. This is a full-time position working a 14/14 rotation.
Kick‑start your mining engineering career with a program designed to build leaders. Step into a unique opportunity to gain hands‑on experience across the full mining cycle while being mentored by seasoned professionals. As an Engineer in Training (EIT), you will work directly with the Chief Mine Engineer and participate in a structured development journey that immerses you in every facet of underground operations.
You will rotate through key areas including development, drilling and blasting, mine planning, ventilation, ground control, surveying, backfill, and operational services, building the practical skills and technical confidence needed to excel in the mining industry. Along the way, you will collaborate with cross‑functional teams in Geology, Metallurgy, Maintenance, Safety, and Operations, gaining a 360° understanding of what drives safe, efficient, and innovative mining.
Our EIT program is designed to accelerate your growth through:
- Real operational exposure in an active underground environment.
- Structured technical development guided by competency milestones.
- Project ownership that showcases your ideas and adds value to the operation.
- Leadership and supervisory training to prepare you for future roles.
- Regular feedback and advancement reviews to keep your career moving forward.
If you are passionate about shaping the future of mining and eager to learn in a fast‑paced, team‑driven environment, this program is your launchpad. Bring your curiosity, drive, and ambition, and we will provide the experience, mentorship, and opportunities to take your career to the next level.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Must be on track to graduate in 2026, or have graduated within the last two years, with a bachelor's degree in mining engineering.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and conflict resolution abilities.
- Exposure to safety-sensitive environments is an asset.
- Highly curious, organized, and results oriented.
- Preference will be given to those with previous co-op or operational experience.
- Willingness to work underground and in a remote camp-based environment.
Compensation and Benefits:
We offer a competitive starting salary range of $86,625 - $106,189/year based on eligible experience towards P.Eng. Annual discretionary short term incentive award at a percentage of base salary, rewarding exceptional contributions to team and company success.
Our comprehensive benefits package includes:
- Employer paid health, dental, and vision insurance
- Life and disability insurance
- RSP with company match
- Camp-based position with travel support
Foran is committed to building a skilled and diverse workforce as we move into our next phase of growth. Indigenous applicants are encouraged to self-declare when submitting applications and resumes. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, you must be legally able to work in Canada.
The McIlvenna Bay Project site is a drug and alcohol-free workplace. Due to the safety-sensitive nature of this position and the remote work environment, candidates must successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment, which includes drug and alcohol testing, as a condition of employment.
Deadline for applications to be submitted is: June 17, 2026
