Overview

Sunnyside Produce is a family-managed Greenhouse Farm located both in Surrey and Delta British Columbia. We operate a state of the art glass farm environments with grading and packing facilities that has been growing since 1996. We focus on environmentally safe practices and efficient farming techniques.

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance - Millwright to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery and equipment critical to our production and grading processes. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, electrical experience, and the ability to interpret schematics and technical manuals. The person we have in mind will play a vital part in ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and compliance within our environment. Candidates with experience in industrial maintenance, HVAC, welding, boiler systems, low voltage electrical work, food manufacturing and farm equipment are highly encouraged to apply.

The Job

  • Dismantle, diagnose, and reassemble mechanical systems
  • Assist in wood/gas boiler repairs
  • Preform emergency repairs as needed across facilities
  • Maintain and repair irrigation systems (pumps, valves, etc.)
  • Conduct maintenance on material handling systems (Forklifts, pallet jacks, picking carts, scissor lifts, etc.)
  • Perform welding, cutting, and basic fabrication tasks
  • Support repairs to compressors, glass washers, sprayers, and cooling/storage equipment
  • Repair, rebuild and diagnose greenhouse roof washing equipment
  • Troubleshoot basic electrical systems
  • Collaborate with and coordinate other trades when needed
  • Help junior staff and build team capabilities
  • Manage repair and maintenance schedules, costs and inventories
  • Calibrate scales and sprayers when necessary
  • Be an active member and a champion of Health and Safety Committee

The Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Millwright or in industrial maintenance within manufacturing environments
  • Strong mechanical knowledge, troubleshooting and repair skills
  • Electrical experience with low voltage systems; familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) preferred
  • Skilled in welding, basic fabrication, HVAC systems, boiler operation, and general mechanical repairs
  • Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and electrical diagrams with fluently in English
  • Excellent analysis skills for diagnosing complex machinery issues and with, an ear for mechanical failures
  • Industrial electrician experience is a plus
  • Strong safety awareness and adherence to industry standards
  • Good organizational, planning, communication skills
  • Millwright or Industrial Mechanic certification preferred (but not as a must)
  • Able to work independently and/or as part of a team
  • Comfortable mentoring or training others
  • Organized with a strong focus on preventative maintenance, safety and inventory
  • Previous experience in greenhouse or food processing environment is a sure plus

Pay: $35.00-$45.00 per hour
