Levant (899 Bloor St W) takes a modern approach to old-world flavour by bringing together the traditional method of crafting classic, Sicilian-style pizza dough with the robust and aromatic flavours of the Middle East. Together, these two authentic flavours create an unforgettable pizza destination.

Job Description

The Pizza Maker will be expected to complete the following job duties:

Responsibilities

  • Prepare pizzas, sandwiches, appetizers, and desserts to the highest quality standard
  • Prepare foods including sauces, meats, chopping vegetables, and desserts for weekly service
  • Undertake prep cooking duties to the highest quality.
  • Bring new ideas to prepare dishes
  • Measuring and preparing the ingredients and seasonings to be used in the cooking of dishes
  • Managing all food order slips and ensuring that customers’ orders are completed in a timely manner.
  • Keep track of inventory and update the inventory management system as required
  • Labeling and stocking all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible

  • Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash etc.
  • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
  • Perform other kitchen duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a cook; experience in a middle eastern restaurant is an asset
  • Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
  • Able to self-manage when needed
  • Manual dexterity able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils
  • A team player with good communication skills
  • Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure
  • Very good physical condition and endurance
  • High school diploma or equivalent is desirable; Training from a culinary school will be an asset

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $19.00-$23.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Toronto, ON M6H 1L2: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Experience:

  • line cook / pizza making: 2 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

  • Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (required)
