Job Summary

Tabule Oakville is seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant General Manager (AGM) to support the General Manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations. The AGM plays a key leadership role in ensuring a seamless guest experience, maintaining operational excellence, and fostering a positive team environment. This role requires a strong background in restaurant management, team leadership, and financial oversight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the General Manager in overseeing front-of-house and back-of-house operations.
  • Ensure an exceptional guest experience by upholding high service and quality standards.
  • Support staff recruitment, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance management.
  • Lead by example, motivating and coaching staff to foster a strong team culture.
  • Monitor financial performance, control costs, and assist with budgeting and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and conflict resolution professionally.
  • Oversee inventory management, ordering, and vendor relations.
  • Support marketing initiatives and community engagement to enhance brand presence.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a restaurant management or supervisory role.
  • Degree/Diploma in Hospitality, Business Management, or a related field is an asset.
  • Smart Serve certification required; First Aid and Food Handler certification are assets.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in team training, development, and performance management.
  • Financial acumen with experience in cost control and sales analysis.
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a passion for hospitality.
  • Additional beverage training, such as wine certification or mixology courses, is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of POS systems, particularly Toast, is considered an asset.

Employment Details

  • Job Type: Full-Time
  • Work Schedule: Flexible availability required, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Compensation: Hourly 40-44 hours per week.
