Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Cook/Kitchen Hand to join our dynamic food service team. This role involves assisting with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting the overall operation of the kitchen. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, excellent communication skills, and a strong commitment to food safety standards. Previous experience in restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environments is highly valued. This position offers an opportunity to develop culinary skills and gain valuable experience in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and assist with food items according to established recipes and standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and sanitizing surfaces
  • Assist with food handling and storage in compliance with food safety regulations
  • Support cooking processes by chopping, assembling ingredients, and basic meal preparation
  • Operate POS systems for ordering and payment processing, including Micros POS if applicable
  • Provide excellent customer service by serving food efficiently and courteously
  • Handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly
  • Ensure all food safety protocols are followed at all times
  • Support team members during busy service periods to ensure smooth operations
  • Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor when interacting with guests

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or hospitality environments preferred
  • Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards
  • Experience with POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms is advantageous
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
  • Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly
  • Basic cleaning and sanitation skills to maintain a hygienic kitchen environment
  • Hospitality or hotel experience is a plus but not required
  • Barista experience or guest services background can be beneficial
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings or weekends as needed
  • A positive attitude, reliability, and a willingness to learn are essential
