Cardiovascular Technologist

Part-Time/ Casual (Guaranteed 2 days per week)

Organization Overview

Merivale Medical Imaging (MMI) Inc. is a modern diagnostic imaging centre offering a variety of outpatient imaging services. Services offered include: Ultrasound, X-Ray, Bone Mineral Density (BMD), Mammography and Nuclear Medicine. Soon to be adding CT and MRI as we move into a large 30, 000 sq. foot new build.

Our CVTs work along side our Nuclear Medicine Technologists to perform nuclear stress testing (treadmill and Persantine) for a busy nuclear department consisting of 3 gamma cameras and two stress labs.

Qualifications:

• Ontario Society of Cardiology Technologist (O.S.C.T) required
• Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists (C.S.C.T) certificate required
• ACLS certification is an asset
• French speaking is an asset

Job description:

We are looking for an experience Cardiovascular Technologist, who is detail-oriented and passionate to join our team for a part-time or casual position.

You will work along side our Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform nuclear stress testing; both Treadmill and Persantine stress.

Skills & Experience

· Strong knowledge of nuclear medicine stress testing procedures

· Demonstrated proficiency in treadmill and Persantine stress testing

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team

· Ability to establish/maintain professional working relationships with others

· Excellent verbal and written communications skills

· High level of motivation and enthusiasm

· Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment

· Ability to consistently provide a high-level of patient care

· Ability to respond appropriately to medical emergencies

Responsibilities

· Prepare the room at the start of the day, including equipment QC

· Perform treadmill stress and Persantine stress testing (including manually injecting the Persantine infusion)

· Prepare and monitor patients during testing

· Recognize and appropriately escalate abnormal rhythms and patient symptoms to the supervising Cardiologist

· Obtain accurate documentation, and diagnostic recordings

Hours of work:

• 7.5-hour shift
• Possible variable shifts between the hours for 7:30 am and 7:30 pm
• Monday – Friday with no weekend or call
• Casual – Guaranteed 2 days per week with ability to cover vacation
