Job Overview
Join one of the leading Canadian importer and distributor of consumer-packaged goods managing market access across all channels of the retail trade. The company is credited with establishing and building some of Canada's best known imported food brands. National in scope and operating out of company owned warehouses, Husky provides full importation, compliance, supply chain, sales, consumer and trade marketing and business analytics solutions to international vendor partners.

This position is for a detailed-oriented, collaborative, proactive individual that's driven to succeed. Reporting to the Director, the Associate Merchant is responsible for monitoring pricing, promotional, listing programs and data integrity. Working directly with the Key Account Managers, Sales Reps and various departments, to ensure timely, accurate, comprehensive and thorough information flow through. Working with Husky internal system (ERP) as well as with retailer POS systems/customer portal maintenance of Contract Pricing, Promotions and Listing Data.

Responsibilities

  • Lead contact with our Retail Partners’ Assistant Category Managers and Merchandizing teams.
  • Work with account managers to prepare account specific documents, item maintenance and promotional forms
  • Liase and build relationships with customer HO staff for the quick resolution of administrative issues such as UPC’s, samples, account specific form completion, pricing etc.
  • Review Vendor Partner Data, ensuring integrity and systems alignment
  • Retail Portal Updates (Listing, Pricing, Promo, Product Data and Images)
  • Maintain product data info on ERP system, as it relates to contract pricing, listing, marketing images, trade deals.
  • Support and communicate to Sales Group and Internal Deparments on: new listings, de-listings, contract pricing changes, promotional pricing, item changes, marketing assets.
  • Seasonal programs/booking forms, customer execution/assist field staff (Sales Rep) execution.
  • Manage one drive (mutually accessed drives) with all relevant and updated sales and marketing info including product catalogues, sell sheets, pricing and marketing images to support the sales team.
  • Trouble shoot, manage customers discrepancies, ie. UPC / SCC codes, pack size, pricing etc.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams (Marketing, Operations, Procurement) on projects, ie. Promo calendar created for each customer.
  • Manage promotional calendar, activity and follow-up to include chain store promotions, sell-sheets, One Drive, overseeing timeline delivery and ongoing updates.
  • Provide regular reports from the customer POS data system as required by KAM
  • Provide regular reports from the Merchandising APP via Power BI as required by the DSD/Merchandising Director
  • Prepare ad hoc reports for the sales team. (i.e. open orders)

Qualifications and Skills:

  • University or post-secondary in Marketing, Business, or related field
  • Minimum 3-years’ experience in Sales Support coordination/marketing
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint, Photoshop, Teams and comfortable working with various software platforms.
  • GS1 current working knowledge required.
  • Experience with customer POS systems, strong assets are Circana IRI and Retail Link.
  • Exceptional communication, attention to detail, a quick study and can work independently.
  • Experience in grocery industry preferred.
  • French language as asset.
