Applicants must:

  • Be actively registered and in good standing with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW); and
  • Hold the Clinical Registry practice enhancement and be listed on the ACSW Clinical Registry.

A general RSW registration without the Clinical Registry designation does not meet the requirements of this position.

About Fitmotive

Fitmotive is a virtual wellness-coaching company that provides personalized mental-health, nutrition and fitness support. We are expanding our services in Alberta and are seeking a Registered Clinical Social Worker to provide virtual counselling through the Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) Program.

Our goal is to deliver practical, culturally respectful support that meets clients where they are and helps them create meaningful, sustainable change.

Responsibilities

  • Provide confidential virtual mental-health counselling to eligible NIHB clients
  • Complete assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Support clients experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship challenges and other mental-health concerns
  • Maintain timely, accurate and confidential clinical documentation
  • Provide culturally safe, trauma-informed and client-centred care
  • Complete documentation required for NIHB authorizations, treatment plans and continued-care requests
  • Manage a flexible virtual caseload based on availability

Qualifications

Required:

  • Active registration and good standing with the Alberta College of Social Workers
  • Current listing on the ACSW Clinical Registry
  • Eligibility to register as an NIHB mental-health counselling provider
  • Experience providing individual mental-health counselling
  • Ability to provide secure and confidential virtual sessions
  • Strong communication, documentation and time-management skills

Beneficial:

  • Experience working with First Nations and Inuit clients
  • Understanding of Indigenous health, intergenerational trauma and culturally safe care
  • Training or experience in trauma-informed care, CBT, solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing or related approaches
  • Previous experience providing virtual counselling
  • Familiarity with NIHB documentation, approvals and billing
