The Schizophrenia Society of Alberta (SSA) is a not-for-profit organization that improves the quality-of-life for Albertans affected by schizophrenia and related disorders. Iris Court is a supportive living facility operated by SSA, providing 24/7 staff support to 21 tenants. The Housing Support Worker at Iris Court plays a vital role in maintaining a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for tenants. Reporting to the Housing Manager, this role provides individualized tenant support, assists with day-to-day operations, ensures adherence to health and safety protocols, and fosters positive relationships with tenants and the Iris Court team.

The Schizophrenia Society of Alberta is currently hiring for 1 Part-Time Housing Support Worker. The weekly schedule for this position is Thursday, Friday and Sunday evening shifts (3 pm-11pm).

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

· Diploma or Degree in a related health, social services, or human services field.

· Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar environment, preferably within supportive housing, mental health, or residential care settings.

· Demonstrated experience working with individuals living with schizophrenia and other complex mental health disorders.

· Strong interpersonal, conflict resolution, and communication skills.

· Proficiency in computer use, including database systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

· Excellent time management, organization, and problem-solving abilities.

· Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, exercising sound judgment with minimal supervision.

· Flexibility to respond to changing priorities, tenant needs, and emergent situations.

· Ability to lift and carry items up to 25 lbs (e.g., cleaning supplies, linens).

· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while conducting building rounds and tenant support duties.

· Standard First Aid Level C CPR required

· Criminal records check required.

Job Type: Part-Time Housing Support Worker

Hours: 24hours / week

Shifts: We require coverage for Thursday, Friday and Sunday evening shifts (3 pm-11pm)

Compensation: $19.50 per hour

Work Location: In person

Pay: $19.50 per hour
