The Fort Vermilion School Division invites applications for an Elementary teaching position.

Terms of Employment:

  • 24-month contract

    Duties/Responsibilities/Skills: As per NOC 41221, Elementary school and kindergarten teachers, Elementary school teacher:

  • Attend educational conferences and workshops
  • Discuss results and students’ progress with them, their parents and school officials
  • Evaluate and document students’ progress
  • Participate in staff meetings
  • Provide tutoring assistance
  • Supervise teaching assistants and train student teachers

  • Assign and correct homework

  • Develop course content

  • Identify childrens' individual learning needs

  • Lead students in activities to promote their physical, mental and social development and their school readiness

  • Prepare, administer and correct tests

  • Prepare and implement remedial programs for students requiring extra help

  • Prepare subject material for presentation according to an approved curriculum

  • Teach students using lessons, discussions, audio-visual presentations and field trip


  • Salary:
    $71,461 to $115,716 annually (To be negotiated) / 35-40 hours per Week

    Employment conditions: Day, Early Morning, Morning

    Education: Bachelor's degree

    Credentials: Provincial Teaching Certificate required

    Languages: English

    Experience: Experience an asset
