Job Overview

Cardio 1 is looking for a full-time registered Physician Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate is someone interested working side-by-side with a Cardiologist, supporting the diagnosis and ongoing management of patients with cardiovascular conditions. The position will require the successful candidate to have strong communication skills, as the successful candidate will work closely with the Cardiologist and collaborate with a broader multidisciplinary health team.

Shifts will be Monday to Friday. The role will consist of working with a single primary supervisor in an independent role that allows the Physician Assistant to use the entire scope of their training within a cardiology setting.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Candidates must be a graduate of a Physician Assistant Educational Program acceptable to the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba and be eligible for national certification.
  • In good standing with current regulatory body (College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba)
  • Recent clinical experience required, particularly in cardiology or internal medicine preffered.
  • Must be able to work both independently and as part of multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication skills required
  • Recent experience using an EMR, particularly Accuro
  • Recent experience working in an outpatient setting an asset
  • Acts professionally and responsibly
  • Shows a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Conduct cardiac-focused history and physical examinations on patients
  • Review and help interpret cardiac diagnostic results in collaboration with the Cardiologist.
  • Assist the Cardiologist in the care and ongoing management of patients
  • Provide education to patients and family
  • Navigate complex patients
  • Contribute to ongoing projects at the clinic
  • Proficiently use EMR to document encounters

Other Valuable Skills Include:

  • Have a proven record of being reliable
  • Possess excellent communication skills

Compensation:

  • To be determined by experience, however wages are competitive to current market rates.
