This family medicine clinic is part of the The Queen's Family health team. We are a primary health care team that provides comprehensive care using best evidence practices for our patients. We are also a teaching clinic for medical students and residents.

We provide an environment conducive to wellness for patients and staff that promotes mutual respect, excellence in performance and adherence to the highest professional standards.

Job Summary:

You will be part of our Reception team. This job is for Monday to Thursdays from 8am-4:30pm. Fridays is from 8am-4pm. Lunch is from 12-1 daily.

Key Responsibilities as a Receptionist may include:

  • Answer phones, directs call to others if required or assist patient with booking appointment, cancelling and rebooking appointments
  • Greets patients, checks them in, update all pertinent information
  • Prepares day sheets for all the Physicians/providers
  • Accepts forms, letters, documents from patient for processing and records transactions in patient’s file
  • Deal with incoming faxes and emails
  • Accepts delivery of parcels and directs to appropriate person
  • Submitting Ohip billing for physician and followup/resubmit billing errors
  • Submitting referrals completed by the physician.
  • Contacting other health care providers, ministry of health, etc as needed
  • Taking patient vitals and rooming when required
  • Effectively de-escalate difficult conversations with patients

Required Skills:

  • Must have at least 1 year of experience working in a busy medical office setting or similar.
  • Must be able to multi-task in a busy environment and have very strong computer and communication skills
  • Must have medical terminology with strong written and oral skills
  • Must be a self starter, very motivated and very focused with the task on hand.
  • Attention to detail is a must and able to take direction if needed.
  • Be a team player and very flexible.
  • Must have up-to-date vaccinations
