Overview

Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Office Assistant, where your enthusiasm and organizational skills will help create a seamless experience for patients and providers alike. In this vital role, you will be the friendly face at the front desk, managing patient interactions, scheduling appointments, and ensuring that administrative operations run smoothly. Your proactive approach will contribute to a welcoming environment and efficient clinic flow, supporting both medical professionals and patients with professionalism and care.

Duties

  • Greet patients warmly and assist with check-in procedures using electronic medical records systems.
  • Manage multi-line phone systems to answer inquiries, schedule appointments, and relay messages promptly.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, including medical histories, insurance information, and appointment notes using EMR system Intrahealth (Profile).
  • Handle administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, billing support, and verifying insurance coverage.
  • Coordinate appointment scheduling with precision to optimize provider availability and patient convenience.
  • Support clinical staff by preparing exam rooms, sterilizing equipment, and managing supply inventory.
  • Assist with patient communication regarding test results, follow-up appointments, and health education materials.

Experience

  • Previous experience working in a medical or dental office setting is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Meditech is essential for efficient documentation.
  • Proven office experience demonstrating strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience as a medical receptionist or in a medical office environment is desirable.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology to accurately interpret clinical notes and communicate effectively with healthcare providers.
  • Ability to manage multi-line phone systems confidently while maintaining professionalism under pressure.
  • Strong administrative background with experience handling front desk responsibilities in busy healthcare settings.
