Full job description

Medical Arts Centre is seeking a professional, organized, and compassionate Medical Office Assistant (MOA) to support our busy family practice and Urgent & Primary Care Centre in Nanaimo, BC. The MOA is responsible for providing front-line administrative support including patient reception, appointment scheduling, phone communication, EMR management, faxing/scanning, physician billing support, and coordination with physicians, nurse practitioners, pharmacies, specialists, and other healthcare providers.

The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Strong communication, multitasking, organizational, and computer skills are essential. Experience working in a medical office and familiarity with Intrahealth Profile EMR, including billing functions, would be considered a strong asset.

Medical Arts Centre is committed to collaborative, team-based patient care and creating a supportive workplace environment for both staff and patients.

Compensation starts at $24.00-$30.00 per hour, dependent on experience. This position will begin ASAP. Full time expectation is in-office 8:30am-5:00pm, Monday - Friday.

Pay: $24.00-$30.00 per hour

Experience:

  • Customer support: 1 year (required)
  • Electronic medical records: 1 year (required)
  • Medical office: 1 year (required)
  • Medical terminology: 1 year (preferred)
