Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team! In this vital role, you will be the friendly face and efficient organizer, ensuring smooth daily operations within a busy medical office. Your enthusiasm and organizational skills will help create a welcoming environment for patients while supporting healthcare providers with administrative excellence. Duties

  • Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing exceptional customer service at the front desk
  • Maintain accurate electronic medical records using CHR (Telus Health), ensuring confidentiality and compliance
  • Verify patient insurance information and process billing or payments efficiently
  • Prepare exam rooms, assist with patient check-in/check-out procedures, and update patient information as needed
  • Support healthcare providers by managing appointment schedules and coordinating follow-up care
  • Handle administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning documents, and managing office supplies

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a medical office setting is highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, familiarity with electronic medical records and strong work ethic
  • Proven experience as in medical office administration
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment
  • Proficiency in using multi-line phone systems and office software applications
  • Exceptional communication skills—friendly, professional, and detail-oriented
  • Office experience that demonstrates reliability and adaptability in administrative roles
  • Ability to take vitals, set up and assist with small procedures
  • Ability to work all shifts-days, evenings and weekends
