Administrative Assistant required for busy medical specialist office.

Employer is willing to consider applicants who are contemplating further studies in the health sciences but who wish to obtain practical experience in healthcare delivery in the interim. A minimum 1 and preferably 2 year time commitment is required.

The office is currently working with an electronic medical record and is 'paperless' and as such the successful candidate must be very comfortable with using computers and be willing to learn new computer applications quickly and efficiently.

Office duties include dicta-typing (which can be fairly easily learned), answering the telephone, booking appointments, faxing, filing, copying, patient reception, billings, some simple accounting, and maintaining and creating electronic medical records.

Hours are generally 36-40 hours weekly between Monday to Friday with start time of generally 8:00 am.

Successful candidates are hard-working, extremely well-organized, efficient, willing to learn (quickly), and have common sense.

Applicants with a B.Sc. are preferred. Applicants must be fluent in written and spoken English.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00-$24.00 per hour
