Assignment Duration: 2–6 weeks
Pay: $38/hour + $22/hour non-taxed Northern Allowance

Since 1997, we’ve been delivering exceptional community health care to Indigenous Peoples across the North. The work you will do:

  • Work in a team atmosphere performing an expanded scope of practice in communities, providing primary and emergency care to all residents –from newborn to elders –through a nursing station / Health Center in a clinic atmosphere
  • Utilize the skills of observation, assessment, nursing diagnosis, counseling, and health teaching according to care plan
  • Health Promotion, Assessments, planning and implementing care using Best Practice Clinical Practice Guidelines; primary care and emergency care; travel nursing; experience creating care plans; IPAC and communicable disease control, immunizations
  • Ensure that, on an ongoing basis, the emotional, spiritual, physical comfort and safety of clients are met to the greatest possible extent within the scope of practice

Who You Are:

  • You are a graduate from an accredited School of Nursing and have a nursing license through the governing body in good standing
  • You are a licensed Nurse registered in good standing
  • You have or are willing to obtain a nursing license through the regulating body in the provinces or territories you wish to work
  • You meet the required work experience
  • Mandatory skillsets and additional training requirements and reimbursements will be discussed during interview

Experience

Required
  • A minimum of 3,000 hours within the past 5 years in acute or critical care nursing, specifically in areas such as the Emergency Department
  • OR 3,000 hours within the past 3 years providing care in remote, isolated, or semi-isolated communities as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

Education

Required
  • Bachelors or better
