Job Title: Medical Device Reprocessing Technician - Casual

Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic Medical Device Reprocessing Technician (MDRT) to join our team. Candidates must be motivated to make a difference in each patient’s experience. You will work alongside a team of dedicated professionals who focus on the safety and service of each patient. You will work with a supportive management team that will provide flexibility and healthy work-life balance.

Employee Class: Casual (1 -2 shifts/week, including Saturdays)

Shifts: Monday through Saturday

Premiums: Evenings @ $4/hour and Weekends @ $5/hour

Tentative Start Date: Ongoing

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Responsible for decontamination, reprocessing, assembly and distribution of a variety or sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies.
  • Excellent aseptic technique.
  • Excellent knowledge of medical instruments and equipment.
  • Will ensure instrumentation is in proper working order, perform biological, chemical, and quality assurance testing.
  • Keep accurate records.

Required Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a Medical Device Reprocessing Program (MDRT)
  • Minimum 3 years of tertiary care centre experience required.
  • Able to effectively and efficiently multitask, organize and work under pressure and/or time constraints.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, independent decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and supportive of others.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Conditions of Employment

  • Successful candidate(s) will be required to provide a record of their immunization status
  • MDRT certification (CSA or HSPA)
  • References upon request
