Full job description

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented part-time Pharmacy Assistant to support daily pharmacy operations and help provide safe, respectful service to patients.
  • The role involves assisting pharmacy staff with routine administrative and workflow tasks. Duties involving medications or patient care must be performed under the direction of qualified pharmacy personnel and within applicable laws and workplace policies.
  • Compounding experience an asset
  • Availability for 2-3 days a week

Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients and direct questions or requests to the appropriate pharmacy staff member.
  • Assist with routine administrative tasks, such as organizing records, updating information, and managing incoming requests while protecting patient confidentiality.
  • Help maintain an orderly, clean, and well-stocked work area.
  • Support pharmacy workflow by organizing supplies and assisting with non-clinical tasks as assigned.
  • Having worked with Kroll systems is a definite benefit.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, caregivers, and healthcare team members.
  • Follow established safety, privacy, and infection-prevention procedures.
  • Refer medication questions, clinical concerns, and requests for medication administration to a licensed or otherwise authorized professional.

Skills

  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and reliability.
  • Clear, courteous communication and a patient-focused approach.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly and follow procedures consistently.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology is preferred.
  • Pharmacy technician experience are nice to have.
  • Understanding of patient care principles is beneficial.
  • Any experience with medication administration is helpful; this position does not authorize medication administration unless permitted by law, credentials, and employer policy.
  • Understanding BC Medical Insurance plans

Pay: $18.25-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 12.0 – 18.0 per week
