Job Summary
Nurse Relief is seeking skilled AAP nurses for temporary assignments in Saskatchewan.

The nurse must have a solid knowledge base and have a min of 1 year experience in Canada.

We do use nurses who are incorporated. Nurses who are not incorporated will get CPP and EI taken off their pay but will still have multiple business tax deductions and will be considered a contractor.

The candidate must have ACLS and PALS.

There is a $70.00 per day per diem. Mileage and housing is supplied. Some sites do provide rental cars.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed medical histories to inform diagnosis and treatment.
  • Manage complex cases involving acute pain management, infectious disease care, geriatrics, pediatrics, or behavioral health, utilizing specialized skills such as IV infusion, catheterization, and sonography.
  • Administer medications and injections accurately while adhering to HIPAA regulations and safety protocols.
  • Perform diagnostic evaluations such as spinal taps, dermal fillers, or gastroscopic procedures in appropriate clinical settings.
  • Collaborate with physicians on discharge planning, case management, and utilization review to optimize patient care pathways.
  • Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner for precise documentation and medical records management.
  • Provide telehealth consultations and participate in clinical research initiatives to advance healthcare practices.
  • Assist with procedures requiring sterile techniques such as suturing, tube feeding management, or sterile processing.

Experience

  • Proven experience working in diverse healthcare environments including hospital medicine, emergency medicine, ICU, or trauma centers.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for efficient documentation and patient tracking.
  • Extensive clinical background in critical care settings like Level I Trauma Centers or PICU is highly desirable.
  • Experience with advanced procedures such as cardiac catheterization, ventilator management, or neurodiagnostic testing preferred.
  • Knowledge of CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding systems for accurate billing and documentation purposes.
  • Background in specialties including geriatrics, pediatrics, hospice & palliative medicine, or occupational health is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with medical imaging techniques like sonography or laboratory experience including specimen collection/processing is beneficial.
