Overview

Mississauga Career College is seeking an experienced and passionate General Sonography Instructor to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering both theoretical and practical instruction to adult learners and preparing students for successful careers in diagnostic medical sonography.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging theoretical and practical training in General Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
  • Teach and supervise students in classroom, laboratory, and practical learning environments.
  • Demonstrate and evaluate proper scanning techniques and clinical skills.
  • Provide students with constructive feedback and support their academic and professional development.
  • Prepare lesson plans, learning materials, assignments, and practical assessments.
  • Evaluate student performance and maintain accurate student records.
  • Create a positive, respectful, and professional learning environment for adult students.
  • Keep course content and instruction aligned with current sonography practices and industry standards.
  • Support students in developing the knowledge, technical skills, and professional competencies required for employment as sonographers

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in diagnostic medical sonography.

Current Ontario sonography instructor postings similarly emphasize adult teaching, classroom and clinical instruction, practical-skills evaluation, and CMRITO registration/Generalist credentials.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience delivering theoretical and practical training to adult students.
  • Must be a licensed and registered sonographer in Ontario (CMRITO) and in good standing.
  • Generalist sonography experience is required.
  • Sonography Canada CRGS credential is strongly preferred.
  • Experience teaching abdominal, pelvic, obstetrical, small-parts, and other general ultrasound applications is an asset.
  • Strong communication, presentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with adult learners.
  • Commitment to student success and professional excellence.
