In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in bringing these transformative capabilities to our defense customers, helping them design, build, and operate the next generation of defense systems and infrastructure.
The Mission:
As an Account Manager for the Defense Vertical, your primary mission will be to drive the adoption and expansion of Siemens Digital Industries' solutions within key defense accounts including demand creation for Siemens products and services in the aerospace and defense(A&D) end user manufacturing segment. Success is measured by sales of Siemens products and services in Aerospace & Defense end user community, and the driving of end user specification into the wider global OEM and integrator market.
You will act as a trusted advisor, understanding the unique operational, technological, and strategic requirements of the defense sector. This role requires a blend of strategic sales acumen, technical understanding of our portfolio, and an unwavering commitment to our customers' success in a highly critical and regulated environment.
What you will do:
- Strategic Account Development: Develop and execute comprehensive account plans for assigned defense customers, identifying key stakeholders, understanding their strategic objectives, and mapping Siemens Digital Industries portfolio to their critical needs.
- Drive 'One Siemens' Solutions: Actively identify opportunities to leverage and integrate offerings from across Siemens' portfolio (e.g., Digital Industries, Smart Infrastructure, etc.) to deliver holistic, end-to-end solutions that maximize value for defense customers and address their complex, multi-faceted challenges.
- Consultative Selling: Engage with senior leaders, program managers, and technical experts within customer organizations to understand their challenges related to automation and drive solutions
- Solution Articulation: Clearly articulate the value proposition of Siemens Digital Industries' portfolio, demonstrating how our integrated software and hardware solutions can enhance design, manufacturing, sustainment, and operational efficiency for defense programs.
- Pipeline & Revenue Growth: Proactively identify new business opportunities, manage a robust sales pipeline, and consistently achieve or exceed assigned revenue targets.
- Market Intelligence: Stay abreast of defense industry trends, competitive landscapes, regulatory requirements and technological advancements to inform sales strategies and contribute to portfolio development.
What will you need to succeed?
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical field.
- Defense Sector Expertise: 5+ years of experience in sales, business development, or account management within the defense industry or suppliers to defense industry with a strong understanding of defense acquisition processes, program lifecycles, and key players preferred
- Technical Aptitude: A solid understanding of engineering, manufacturing, or operational processes relevant to the defense sector is highly beneficial.
- Industrial Automation Solutions: Strong knowledge and expertise related but not limited to PLCs, VFDs, MTS (Mechanical Tool Systems), Edge Portfolio, Simulation Solutions, etc.
- Strategic Selling Skills: Demonstrated ability to develop and execute complex sales strategies, manage large accounts, and navigate multi-stakeholder environments.
- Relationship Builder: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a natural ability to build rapport and establish credibility with senior defense leaders.
- Travel: Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% (or as required) to customer sites and internal meetings.
