Full job description

The duties of Medical office Assistant include but are not limited to:

o Collect, verify and update information, file, sleep study and Consultation referrals

o Registration of patients in Oscar EMR software

o Booking patients for sleep studies and consultations

o Confirmation updates of patients for sleep studies and consultations

o Printing day sheets of sleep clinic and clinic patients, organize paper work and prepare charts

o Prepare cancellation list for sleep clinic patients

o Prepare list of severe sleep apnea patients and urgent consultation

o Finding last minute cancellations or no shows of sleep clinic patients

o Retrieve and respond to messages for sleep and clinic appointments

o Billing of sleep clinic patients

o Copying and mailing of sleep study and consult reports

o Filing sleep reports and all charts

o Enter diagnosis/medications and procedural steps (date of the study, date of scoring, date of received report, date of mailing out the report etc) into the respective folders

o Update CPAP database

o Notify CPAP supplier of pressure changes

o Contact CPAP provider as per patient preference; providing chosen CPAP provider with patient information; Maintaining tracking of this procedure (Physician prescribing CPAP, provider’s name, date of prescription faxed to provider)

o Ensure that the sleep study requisition forms are completed; returning all incomplete forms to be completed

o Report to the Administrative Director / clinic coordinator as part of the performance control

o Ensure that all documentation and forms in patient’s files are completed

o Review and allocate no show/cancellation patient files, communicate with referring physicians.

o Prepare the consult rooms according to the need of the clinic.

o Maintain and coordinate the linen supply and keep the clinic neat and tidy all the time.
Salary: Starting from $19.00 per hour
