Full job description

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized, professional, and friendly Medical Receptionist to join our team. This role is essential to maintaining the smooth and efficient operation of our clinic while ensuring a welcoming environment for all patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Validate health cards and accurately collect and update patient demographics.
  • Handle incoming calls and voicemails promptly and professionally; direct inquiries as appropriate.
  • Maintain strict patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Manage scheduling and follow-ups, including contacting patients with results or specialist appointments.
  • Process and follow up on billing for uninsured services; prepare and issue invoices when required.
  • Scan and upload documents and test results to the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
  • Respond to emails in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist physicians with minor clinical tasks, such as:
  • Taking vital signs
  • Preparing trays for procedures (e.g., pap smears)
  • Weighing and measuring infants
  • Performing urine analysis
  • Administering intramuscular and subcutaneous injections
  • Phlebotomy experience is considered an asset.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a medical or walk-in clinic setting.
  • Proficiency in OScar EMR or similar electronic medical record systems.
  • Strong conflict resolution and customer service skills, with the ability to manage challenging interactions professionally.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent computer and typing skills.
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written) is required.
