The Academy of Professional Development provides training solutions to non-profit organizations across Ontario. Leveraging Reconnect’s expertise in procurement, training and partnership with other non-profits through its Community Shared Services Collaborative, the Academy serves to build capacity in the larger healthcare system by facilitating skills building and professional development.

What We’re Looking For:

We are looking for experienced professionals in the nonprofit and healthcare sectors

with excellent communication and presentation skills. and a commitment to fostering

learning and growth in others. We are currently seeking trainings in the areas of:

  • Conflict Resolution and De-escalation Strategies - managing challenging & difficult
  • interactions/conversations for social service providers supporting vulnerable service recipients
  • Trauma-informed Practice - focus on understanding trauma, core principles of trauma informed practice and how to apply practical strategies to support vulnerable populations
  • Skills Development in Vulnerable Service Recipients - Adapting a trauma-informed practice approach to foster building awareness, skills, and resilience in this population
  • Leadership Training for Supervisors, Managers, and Emerging Leaders - exploration of management approaches and skills application from different frameworks to enhance performance, increase workplace cohesiveness, and optimize productivity
  • Management Skills and Leadership Development - training that highlights fundamental management styles and focuses on skills development to foster success and inclusivity
