Full job description

Our medical office is seeking a full-time Medical Office Receptionist

Duties (may include and not limited to)

  • Bringing patient into examination rooms
  • Taking vital signs, recording height and weight
  • Schedule and confirm medical appointments and receive and communicate messages for medical staff and patients
  • Correspondence by mail, phone, in person and fax with patients, consulting physician offices and pharmacies
  • Completing OHIP and third-party billing
  • Handle all patients in a professional, diplomatic manner
  • Keeping the work space tidy and presentable at all times
  • Must be extremely organized and diligent with following up and completing tasks
  • Initiate and maintain confidential medical files and records

Requirements

  • Completion of a one or two-year college program or other specialized course for medical secretary
  • At least 1-3 years experience in an administrative role
  • Must have advanced computer skills and experience with Electronic Medical Records, PS Suite
  • Must have a professional, friendly and outgoing demeanor
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting is a great asset
  • Must have previous experience with PS Suites
  • Previous experience with OceanMD is preferred
  • Exceptional communication skills, professional, enthusiastic, positive, respectful

Hours

  • Monday to Friday (9am-5pm) Office hours vary per day (30hrs per week)

Compensation: $20 per hour
