Job Title: Calgary Industrial Sales Representative
Location: Calgary, AB
Reports To: Sales Manager (General Manager in the interim)
Salary: $80,000 – $100,000/year + Commission
Job Type: Full-Time

Job Summary:

We are seeking a results-driven Industrial/Construction Auction Sales Representative to identify, secure, and manage consignments of industrial assets for auction in Calgary. This role involves prospecting new clients, maintaining relationships with existing accounts, and working closely with operations and marketing teams to ensure successful auction outcomes. The successful candidate will also support yard operations one day per week during the first year to gain hands-on familiarity with auction processes and equipment handling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and engage with potential clients including manufacturers, equipment dealers, plant managers, and asset recovery specialists.
  • Evaluate industrial and construction equipment and assets for potential auction or liquidation.
  • Present auction services and solutions to clients, including consignment, outright purchase, or guaranteed minimum return.
  • Negotiate contracts and commission agreements in accordance with company policies.
  • Collaborate with operations and marketing teams to ensure proper asset cataloging, advertising, and auction setup.
  • Attend auctions and client meetings on-site as required.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitors to identify new business opportunities.
  • Maintain detailed records of all sales activities, communications, and transactions.
  • Spend a minimum of one day per week (for the first year) at the Strathmore Yard, assisting operations with photography, descriptions, and intake processes.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record in B2B sales, preferably in the industrial, auction, construction, or capital equipment sectors.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to assess industrial assets and understand market value.
  • Willingness to travel regionally or nationally as needed.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency with CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in industrial equipment, auction, or asset disposition sales.
  • Knowledge of industries such as manufacturing, construction, energy, or agriculture.
  • Existing network of industry contacts and clients.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary: $80,000 – $100,000/year
  • Commission on consignment sales
  • 0% selling commission through Premier Consignment Yards
