RCDB Projects is a full stack industrial automation company that serves many industries across Canada. The foundation of our work is based on designing and implementing custom solutions for our clients. These solutions include control systems using PLCs and HMIs, SCADA, MES, Networking, and cyber security. Our clients are in manufacturing, food processing, mining, and municipal sectors.

Role: Automation Engineer
An engineer at RCDB Projects is a leader and involved in all phases of a project. Tasks will be assigned at the design, programming, commissioning, and project management levels. Knowledge of electrical systems, programming language fundamentals, networking, and user interface design will be required.
Design responsibilities include:
· Hardware and software selection
· Confirmation of specifications to ensure client end goals are achievable.
· Planning with engineering team to define scope
Programming/Implementation requirements include:
· PLC programming following specifications and guidelines
· HMI/SCADA programs with scripting and graphical layouts
· Programming in Python, VB, .NET, Structured Text
· Database design using but not limited to MSSQL, MySQL, InfluxDB
· Server, client, and virtual machine set up using HyperV or VMWare on Windows, Mac, and Linux platforms.
· Configuration of smart devices such as VFDs, communication gateways, UPS
· Communication systems using industrial protocols such as Modbus, Profibus, DeviceNet, DH+ and others
Commissioning responsibilities include:
· Factory acceptance testing of client software or hardware
· Field validation of software and hardware to meet client specifications
· System start up
· Local and remote support that can include travel across Canada

Project Management can include:
· Coordination with key players to designate tasks
· Strong communication with team and client
· Reporting during all phases of the project

Candidate Profile Guidelines
· Education in Electrical Engineering/Engineering Technology or Computer Science
· Experience in Industrial automation or Technician roles
· Ability to travel across Canada
· French Bilingual is a priority

· Minimum 2 years experience with Rockwell/Siemens/Ignition

Pay: $95,000.00-$105,000.00 per year
