About the role
The purpose of the Officer - Emergency Response role is to be responsible for the implementation of the Emergency Response Teams programming, training, and routine emergency equipment inspections at Red Lake Operations. This role is to recruit for an existing vacancy.
The position will be on an 7/7 (12 – hour day) roster and will be based residentially in Red Lake, Ontario. We offer a competitive salary, bonus structure and future growth. The compensation range for this role is
- Medical first responder for onsite injuries
- Training of RLO Emergency Response Teams (underground and surface)
- Assist with ERT member recruitment
- Participate in the development of RLO emergency response procedures, SWI, TARP, and Risk Assessments
- Development of onsite rescue plans (i.e., Confined Space)
- Inspections and maintenance of site emergency equipment (i.e., fire extinguishers, eyewash stations, refuge station/chamber, escape man ways, etc.)
- Record-keeping of all monthly inspections and ERT team training
- Conduct Drug & Alcohol testing as required for new site workers or post incident requirements
- Work in a healthy work environment with full support, cooperation, and commitment to satisfy our
operation’s goal of being accident-free
- Comply with federal and provincial acts and regulations, and legal requirements
- Assist with security gatehouse duties as required
About you
- ERT experience – Mine Rescue, Paramedic, Medical First Responder
- Valid Class G Driver’s License
- Familiarity with Occupational Health and Safety Act and mining regulations
- Solid computer skills with particular proficiency using Microsoft PowerPoint software
- Comprehensive knowledge of accident investigation process and company policies
- Capable of designing creative and effective training material
- Good decision-making capabilities
