We are currently hiring for a July 2026 opening.

This is an on-site role located in Millbrook, Nova Scotia, for a Dental Administrator / Dental Receptionist. The role focuses on front desk and administrative duties, including greeting patients, scheduling and confirming appointments, managing patient records, verifying insurance, and assisting with billing and payments. You will serve as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a welcoming and positive experience from check-in to check-out, while also supporting the dental team with day-to-day administrative needs.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome patients warmly, ensuring a positive first impression.
  • Schedule, reschedule, and confirm appointments by phone, email, or text.
  • Collect and update patient information, medical history, and insurance details.
  • Verify insurance coverage, prepare estimates, and assist with claims processing.
  • Process payments, issue receipts, and support patients with billing inquiries.
  • Respond to patient inquiries about services, procedures, and fees.
  • Maintain a clean and organized reception area.
  • Communicate effectively with the dental team to ensure smooth patient flow.
  • Maintain accuracy and confidentiality of patient records.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a dental receptionist or administrator in a Canadian dental or medical setting is strongly preferred
  • Experience in patient care and working with healthcare providers (dentists, physicians, specialists).
  • Knowledge of dental/medical terminology, procedures, and insurance processes is an asset.
  • Proficient in administrative tasks, patient record management, and scheduling.
  • Experience with dental practice management software (dentrix) is an advantage.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
