Full job description

We are seeking a highly organized and personable individual to join our team as a Receptionist/Optometric Assistant. This full-time position involves managing front desk operations, performing Pre-tests, visual field tests and fundus photography and assisting with dispensing when needed. The ideal candidate will have experience in these areas and a passion for delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and check-in patients in a friendly and professional manner
  • Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage patient records
  • Perform Pre-tests on patients before their appointments
  • Perform visual field tests and fundus photography on patients when needed
  • Process payments and handle insurance claims
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Support optometrists with administrative tasks as needed
  • Help maintain the dispensary and aid with spectacle and contact lens needs

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in an optometric office or similar healthcare setting is an asset but not required
  • Certified Canadian Optometric Assistant (CCOA) is an asset but not required
  • Proficiency in French is an asset
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
  • Billing/Insurance experience and EMR proficiency is an asset
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
