Job Overview

In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and team members, managing appointments, patient records, billing, and administrative tasks with enthusiasm and precision. Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly, schedule appointments, and manage the front desk with professionalism and efficiency
  • Handle multi-line phone systems to answer inquiries, confirm appointments, and direct calls appropriately
  • Maintain accurate electronic medical records using systems like Epic and Dentrix, ensuring confidentiality and compliance
  • Verify insurance information, process claims, and assist with billing and payments to optimize revenue flow
  • Coordinate patient flow by preparing charts, updating records, and managing appointment reminders
  • Support clinical staff by managing supply inventories and ensuring the office environment is organized
  • Communicate effectively with patients regarding treatment plans, payment options, and office policies using clear medical terminology
  • Assist in administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and managing correspondence to keep the office well-organized

Experience

  • Prior experience working in a dental or medical office environment is highly preferred
  • Familiarity with dental practice management software such as Dentrix or similar platforms is a strong plus
  • Knowledge of Epic electronic health records (EHR) system is advantageous
  • Proven experience as a dental receptionist or administrative assistant in a healthcare setting
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to dental care and patient communication
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently in a busy office setting
  • Previous experience managing insurance claims, billing processes, or working with electronic medical records is desirable
