Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated Part Time Pre-tester to join our friendly team. In this role, you will assist in preparing patients for their eye exams by conducting preliminary assessments and ensuring a smooth patient flow. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in healthcare, optical services, or retail sales to gain valuable experience in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly and verify their appointment details
  • Conduct basic vision screenings and preliminary tests using electronic medical records systems
  • Keep accurate and up to date records of patient information
  • Prepare exam rooms and ensure all necessary equipment is ready for the optometrist
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions and test results
  • Front desk duties such as recalling patients, scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, checking patients in, and billing extended benefits plans
  • Provide excellent customer service, answering questions related to optical products and services

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in an optometry clinic is required
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Visual Eyes is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to eye care is advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
  • Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Retail sales or customer service experience, especially in optical or healthcare settings, is desirable
  • Basic understanding of optical products, including glasses and contact lenses, is beneficial
