Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Office Assistant (Part-time) to join our healthcare team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in supporting patient care and contributing to a well-organized medical practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in family physician office experience, patient care, and familiarity with medical terminology. This position is perfect for someone looking to gain valuable healthcare experience while working in a supportive environment.
Duties
- Greet and assist patients upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming and professional atmosphere
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently
- Prepare and update patient records accurately using electronic health record systems
- Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks
- Provide patient care support by answering questions and providing instructions as needed
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the medical office environment
- Handle administrative duties such as patient correspondence and invoicing
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations
Requirements
- Prior hospital or clinical experience is highly preferred
- Prior experience with Accuro EMR preferred
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare procedures
- Experience with patient care activities and basic medication administration is desirable
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient interactions
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work part-time hours with flexibility during clinic hours
- Certification or training related to healthcare support is a plus but not mandatory
Pay: $16.00-$20.00 per hour
