Full Job Description – Obstetric (OB) Sonographer

DESCRIPTION

The Canadian Diagnostic Network (CDN) is Ottawa's trusted Radiology & Imaging services. Our focus centers on the patient and their family as we strive to meet their healthcare needs with personal attention and respect. Under the supervision of the Director(s) and Operations Coordinator(s), the OB sonographer will be responsible for obstetric and general ultrasound scanning of patients at our downtown imaging center.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

● Successful completion of a recognized course in diagnostic ultrasound.

● Licensed and in good standing with Sonography Canada.

● Active member and in good standing with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO).

● Possess liability insurance.

● Current CPR certification.

● Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

● Intermediate proficiency in English, spoken and written. French is an asset.

● Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively and courteously with all types of people.

OBSTETRIC QUALIFICATIONS

In addition to the general sonographer credentials above, the OB sonographer must be competent in all of the following obstetrical scans (representative but not all inclusive):

● 1st trimester — dating, rule out ectopic.

● 2nd trimester — Nuchal Translucency (NT) certified, morphology.

● 3rd trimester — biophysical profile (BPP), growth, fetal position, cervical length, placental location.

● High risk — multiple gestation, gestational diabetes.

Pay: $38.00-$44.00 per hour
